Discover St Barths
From the multicolored hues of Lorient to the magical views of Colombier, a small tour of the island, neighborhood by neighborhood, beach by beach, small and big delights with varied style...
St barth tradition
While visiting the neighborhoods, discover the local "cases", a testimony of a time with a discreet charm. To learn more about heritage, we recommend a visit to Domaine Félicité, whose cases have been arranged according to different themes and retrace more than two centuries of the island's history.
Wild nature
With your camera in hand, observe the landscapes of the island which endure the constraints of the elements, water, air, earth, fire, in a dazzling mineral spectacle: fossilized trees, sculpted rocks, cliffs...
Local essence
Plantations, medicinal or aromatic plants, not to mention local fruit trees for gourmet pleasures - custard apple, cashew fruit, corossol, etc. - and the latanier tree that generations of St Barths have worked into braids to produce the most beautiful ornaments.
Trails
Walk along the footpaths to discover the saline, search in the mangroves along St Jean’s pond where migratory birds nest, admire the sun setting below Gustavia from the lighthouse, and meet the adventure by walking through the wild islets where the beauty of the landscapes is combined with the taste of the effort.
Street art
Artists invade the streets and public places and express their style and emotions with their palette of colors. A non-exhaustive portfolio of these creations which display their love for the island with panache!
Marigot
Marigot is the calm of the water, resting on the sand and under the coconuts... The private coconut grove of the former Rothschild property provides a shade that is conducive to napping and invites you to meditate on these trees that are resistant to the ravages of wind and time! For time seems to have stopped in Marigot, this nature reserve whose crystal clear water welcomes snorkelers curious about the multitude of multicolored fish.
Grand Fond
An oceanic romanticism that awakens the sailor in you. Wild and rough, its rocky shores resist the repeated assaults of the ocean. Proudly braced against the Atlantic, the shores and cliffs protect walkers from the sea’s power, but not bathers from its waves, which hide reefs and rocks. We advise you to take a walk, but do not recommend swimming.
Petite Saline
Set back, well above its big sister, Petite Saline offers a remarkable panoramic view of the sea, the land and the sky. Petite Saline and its remote world where the sun shines and your gaze always settles on the horizon... You can relax in peace, enjoy life, the colorful charm of the hummingbirds, and see the whole island while watching the straw-tails swoop across the sky or the sailboats glide by on the glistening sea.
Saint Jean
Saint Jean is life, dynamism and celebration. Saint Jean is joy, the plane that splits the sky above the bathers and touches down at the water’s edge. Saint Jean is the white sand of its splendid beach with azure blue waters. Saint Jean is the happiness of nautical games and gastronomic pleasures. Saint Jean is the Eden Rock that watches over eternal summer people who have fun on the two beaches of its two sides. Saint Jean is sun and joy, in the heart of nature and next to the beating heart of Gustavia, the capital city of the island.
Public
A beach with white sand and the most beautiful sunset... where the view, the sky and the party have claimed their place on the outskirts of Gustavia. The breeze presents itself there despite its calm waters, and you can learn to make it an ally at the island’s sailing school that is based here.
Colombier
A neighborhood with privileged panoramas: from the heights, you can see the ocean, numerous islets, and even Saint Martin on a clear day. From the two paths that lead to the bay, you will discover breathtaking views. By the wild path, after crossing a cave, from the edge of the cliff, you suddenly discover the beach. By the high path, we dominate the island and look out over the the bay, before descending towards it and diving into the water. Turtles and goats pass by as we venture down, and we do not pass far from the infinite.
Gustavia
Gustavia is the "capital" of all St Barth qualities: from the most natural - its harbor’s crystal-clear waters - to the most sophisticated - its luxury boutiques with exceptional brands. From its aptly named Shell Beach with its wealth of tiny seashells, to the jewels of fine jewelry, Cartier, Chopard, Bulgari... Gustavia is indeed the capital city of the island. Stroll through its charming streets, admire the most beautiful yachts and sailboats in its bay, discover its history rich in French vestiges and Swedish names. Gustavia is a lively place in the heart of beauty, the French art of living where the best restaurants excite the most discerning palates, even when on the beach with your feet in the water.
Grand Cul de Sac
A region with a translucent lagoon and magical sea beds... You can snorkel, kayak, kite surf... You can see turtles, coral and conch. Slide under water before emerging and slipping your feet into the sand under a table, sometimes with your feet still in the water. Luxury hotels along the beach offer this lifestyle: the Guanahani, the Sereno, the Barthélémy.
Toiny
Toiny welcomes you with its sea breeze, but also its rough waters and strong currents, which experienced surfers seek out for intensity and thrills. The hotel Le Toiny welcomes visitors in search of calm and relaxation on the sandy beach, but as at its neighbor, Grand Fond, swimming at this beach is not advised.
Pointe Milou
This peninsula owes everything to the exceptional panoramic views that make us embrace the vibrant and wild beauty of the island, yet in a relaxing atmosphere. Residents of this neighborhood appreciate the proximity to the deluxe spa services and restaurants at the renowned Le Christopher hotel.
Lorient
Where one glides on the water and where the water glides onto the beach, where all the colors of nature collide, the white of the sand, the blue of the sky and the green of the sea... Where the colors also meld on the surfers' shack, where the children have fun in their own huts, where one swims for the first or the millionth time. Lorient beach in the colors of nature, neighborhood in the colors of life.
Saline
Far from the curious, far from prying eyes, between the sky and the water, an immaculate sandy beach awaits the visitor, provided that she comes on foot to bathe in the turquoise sea, with the sun as her only shadow. A rare fauna feasts in the wild flora, where the gaïacs, the flamboyants, the tamarind, the lataniers, and the aloe welcome the red-billed straw-tail bird... Saline with a salty taste, Saline or the wild salt of life.
Flamands
The neighborhood with two different beaches.
La Grande Anse: the largest and one of the most beautiful beaches of the island, with the finest sand. It is also one of the quietest, except in the summer when it becomes one of the most animated by students who come to meet and play.
La Petite Anse is the opposite, more family oriented and always quiet, its half-moon pool welcomes bathers of all ages.
